We rarely receive photos after a PAINT COLOR CONSULTATION so I was excited to receive this one. My Client was in the beginning phases of some pretty major exterior updates (sliding, garage doors, windows, light fixtures etc.) So I was able to weigh in on much more than color – which happens more often than not with color consultations. This smart client was ready for more attractive curb appeal and had a lot of great ideas! I was able to help him refine those ideas into one plan of action. We began with COLOR, because all decorating decisions start with (live and die with) the right COLOR!! Like so many, he was leaning towards a white/grey color scheme. Not blaming him at all — just always be aware, whatever is trendy is typically where we lean because we are surrounded with Beautifully designed homes everywhere we look (when we are looking). The neighbors, TV, magazines, brochures etc. etc. However, use caution going all in with trendy (or just call us and we’ll talk much more on this). I saw this beauty going another direction for a more timeless and unique outcome (these are still phone pics so in case you can’t tell, the after is a rich, deep green). We compared colors to consider for the siding, brick, front door (fence), garage doors; then we discussed the garage doors (style, orientation of the windows), light fixtures, landscaping; then we discussed that middle area on the right side of the house. My client was considering adding a long narrow window or two to possibility mimic new garage doors. I got out my trusty painters tape and we went to work, considering both the interior and exterior look until we got all the details just right. We added that much needed balance as well as interest to the curb appeal!
