This sweet property needed a little love. The flooring and wall paint color were determined and being installed when I was called in to help with the cabinet color and countertops. A quick assessment could have pointed in the direction of the timeless appeal of white kitchen cabinets and a little contrasting color with quartz countertops. However, even for a color consultation, color is not the only consideration for the very best outcome.
Considerations:
- What’s the purpose? For this property is was to sell for the most profit
- Then what’s the competition look like and are priced at? This was a modestly priced neighborhood, built in early 2000’s, and similar homes with same or similar finishes/layouts nearby
- Best ROI? Some of the cabinets were damaged, however the best return on the seller’s investment was to repair, not replace
- What else is needed? In this instance, updates in the baths
- What is staying? Such as appliances etc.
After considering all those aspects, and current colors & finishes; I recommended this beautiful and trendy green hue, which gave it that wow factor to stand head and shoulders above the others, update the look of the cabinets and of course, look great with the other elements in the home. The countertop was selected specifically to complement the cabinet color and work well with the backsplash.
